Here’s what Alabama OL Tyler Booker said when asked who is starting at QB

If Tyler Booker knows, he isn’t saying.

The Alabama offensive lineman was asked what every Crimson Tide wants to know: Who will start at quarterback when Nick Saban’s team opens the season Saturday against Middle Tennessee? The game will be live streamed on fuboTV (free trial).

Ty Simpson, Jalen Milroe and Tyler Buchner have all been the talk of the offseason for the Tide.

Booker, who was a guest on “The Next Round” deflected when it came to the starter.

“We don’t know,” he said. “They don’t know. It’s really not up to us. It’s really up to them to earn the right to play. But as far as the offensive line and the rest of the team goes, our mindset is whoever it’s gonna be, we’re gonna be ready to support them because coach Saban plays the cards really close. We’ll all find out on Saturday. Everybody asks me questions like I know. I promise you I don’t know, we’re all going to find out on Saturday.’”

Last month, ESPN’s Greg McElroy – a former Alabama quarterback – told On3 he believes Alabama has “three good options” at quarterback. Milroe has the most experience.

“Milroe has the highest ceiling,” McElroy said. “He’s got unbelievable speed and athleticism. He’s extremely dynamic. If everything breaks down and everything goes haywire and all 10 guys offensively totally bust, he can still turn nothing into something.”

However, McElroy is going with Simpson, the former 5-star prospect who is entering his redshirt freshman season with the Crimson Tide. McElroy cited Milroe’s turnover issues and Buchner’s late arrival as issues.
