Police identify body found in Mobile Bay
Police have identified the body officers pulled from the water in Mobile Bay Monday evening.
Shortly before 6:30 p.m. Monday, officers were summoned to Mobile Bay near Dog River Bridge for what was termed a “water-related incident.”
Members of the Mobile Police Department’s marine unit responded to the scene and the body of a white male was recovered about an hour later.
On Friday, police identified the deceased man as 40-year-old Dustin Williams of Theodore.
According to family members, Williams went for a swim Sunday. At some point, people in a sailboat spotted him and asked him if he needed help. Williams said he was fine and the boat continued on. That was the last time he was seen alive.
Police said an investigation into the death is underway and an autopsy is pending.
