A 58-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle Saturday afternoon on Tanner Williams Road in Mobile.

Mobile police said Monday officers were notified of the incident in the 9000 block of Tanner Williams Road near a construction site just after 5 p.m. Saturday.

When they arrived, officers found the victim, identified as Trent Perkins, suffering from severe injuries. He was transported to a local hospital, but later died from his injuries.

Police say the accident remains under investigation.
