30-year-old Mobile gunshot victim dies after being driven to hospital, suspect charged
A Mobile man who has spent time in prison on multiple charges is now charged with the murder of another Mobile man early Sunday morning.
Mobile police said officers responded to a location on Dunbar Street shortly after 4 a.m. Sunday on a report of a man with multiple gunshot wounds.
When they arrived at the scene, officers learned the victim — later identified as 30-year-old Tchywoskie Rhodes — had been driven to Infirmary Health in a private vehicle, but died shortly after arriving at the hospital.
By Sunday night, investigators had a suspect in custody. Jordan Terrell Hundley, 30, was taken into custody and charged with Rhodes’ murder.
Hundley has served jail time on multiple previous occasions on charges including shooting into occupied buildings, three arrests for DUI in an 18-month period, promoting prison contraband, obstruction of justice and multiple counts of marijuana possession.
In January, Hundley was sentenced to 9 years, 11 months and 30 days for shooting into an occupied building and obstruction of justice. All but 30 days of that sentence, however, was suspended. Hundley was also on probation for a 2022 conviction for shooting into an occupied building.
He is now charged with murder and two counts of felony probation violation. He remains in the Mobile Metro Jail, being held without bond pending a court hearing Wednesday morning.
