Gulf Shores man killed in weekend crash in Baldwin County

A 40-year-old Gulf Shores man died Friday night in a two-car collision on a Baldwin County highway, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said.

The accident took place shortly before 6 p.m. on Baldwin County 87 near Merchant Lane, about three miles north of Elberta, ALEA said.

Kim Sung Gov of Gulf Shores died when the 2008 Scion TC he was driving was struck by a 2016 GMC Sierra truck driven by 21-year-old Jose J. Hernandez of Dallas, Texas.

Kim Sung Gov was pronounced dead at the scene, while Hernandez and a passenger in his vehicle were both injured and taken to Gulf Shores Free Standing Hospital for treatment.

ALEA said the accident remains under investigation by its Highway Patrol division.
