Juvenile arrested after $25,000 vandalism done to schools, authorities say

Jackson County authorities have arrested a juvenile in connection with three break-ins at two different schools resulting in more than $25,000 in damage.

The first came Thursday at Bryant Elementary in Bryant, when a person spray painted walls, windows and a marquee, as well breaking several windows.

A day later, a vandal burglarized the North Sand Mountain School in Bryant, breaking TVs, computer equipment and trophies.

According to investigators, in both cases, the vandal wore the same clothing and carried a baseball bat and camouflaged bag.

On Saturday, someone dressed the same way again came to North Sand Mountain but was arrested before doing any damage.

The juvenile suspect will be processed through juvenile justice, the sheriff’s office said. The department worked with Jackson County Schools on the case.
