Authorities on scene of North Alabama train derailment

Norfolk Southern and local authorities are on the scene of a train derailment in a remote potion of DeKalb County.

According to the DeKalb County EMA, five train cars left the railway near Battelle in the northern part of the county, near the Georgia state line.

According to Norfolk Southern, the cars hold no hazardous material, and there is no threat to life.

No injuries have been reported in relation to the incident.
