A man was found slain in a burning vehicle on a Montgomery interstate.

Montgomery police identified the victim as Joseph Turner. He was 38 and lived in Montgomery.

Police and fire medics responded at 12:05 a.m. Thursday to Interstate 85 southbound near Taylor Road on a report of a vehicle fire, said Maj. Saba Coleman.

Turner was pronounced dead on the scene.

An autopsy by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences showed Turner had been shot, Coleman said.
