A 22-year-old Mobile man is dead and Prichard police are searching for a suspect after an apparent homicide in the Alabama Village community early Thursday.

Officers responded to a report of a single gunshot around 6 a.m. Arriving at the scene, they discovered Ji’Taveis Demar Thomas dead from an apparent gunshot wound, Prichard police said.

No other details were released.

Thomas was arrested by Mobile police in June for disorderly conduct. He had prior arrests including drug and theft charges.
