Alabama man faces 106 counts involving child pornography
The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office says a Valley Head man is facing more than 100 charges involving child pornography.
Sheriff Nick Welden said a DeKalb County investigator, assigned to the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, received a tip recently from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
The tip stated that a DeKalb County resident had been involved in sharing and downloading child pornography via a social media platform, Welden said.
Dustin Blake Burt, 27, of Valley Head, has been charged with 77 counts of child porn possession and 29 counts of dissemination of child pornography.
Burt was booked into the DeKalb County Jail Thursday afternoon. According to court records, he also faces child pornography possession charges in Montgomery County, filed in 2020.
Welden complimented investigators in a statement, saying that “our children are the innocent victims and will be affected by this for the rest of their lives. They deserve carefree days full or love, laughter and new adventures, not the pain crimes like this will bring.”
