Hugh Freeze, Auburn adds 4-star defensive lineman to 2024 recruiting class

First it was 5-star linebacker Demarcus Riddick. Then is was 4-star athlete Malcolm Simmons, followed by 5-star wide receiver Perry Thompson and 4-star cornerback Jalewis Soloman.

Following his announcement Saturday afternoon, 4-star defensive lineman TJ Lindsey is the latest blue chip pickup for Hugh Freeze and the Auburn Tigers, who have put the country on notice with recent wins on the recruiting trail.

In early June, Lindsey revealed his Top 10, which featured Arkansas, Michigan, Missouri, Tennessee and USC, in addition to his final five, which included Alabama, Auburn, Miami, Texas and Texas A&M.

Lindsey was initially offered by the Tigers on Jan. 12 and made his first and only visit to The Plains on June 2. Lindsey followed his visit to Auburn’s campus with official visits to Miami, Texas A&M and Texas.

Ultimately, it was Freeze and the Tigers who earned Lindsey’s pledge, adding to an already impressive recruiting class that ranked as the 16th-best in the country prior to his commitment.

Lindsey joins eight other defensive players as 2024 commits, but only joins 3-star Malik Blocton as a defensive lineman.

Coming out of IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., Lindsey ranks as 34th-best defensive lineman in the country and the 45th-best prospect to come out of the Sunshine State, according to 247Sports composite rankings.
