1 in custody following fatal shooting in Semmes
One person is in custody following a shooting in Semmes that left one person dead and one injured Friday night.
Semmes Police Department and the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene on Ponderosa Drive South and Sandy Creek Drive around 9:30 p.m.
Reports from WKRG state that the person injured during the altercation was a teen girl who was immediately rushed to the hospital but is expected to be OK.
The name of the deceased victim has not been released.
The suspect, Curtellius James, was later booked into Mobile County Metro Jail early Saturday morning on murder and attempted murder charges.
Authorities say the suspect and the two victims are known to each other, according to Fox10 News.
