Decatur man charged with sexually abusing underage girl, police say

A Decatur man was arrested on allegations he sexually abused an underage girl at his home “on multiple occasions,” police said Thursday.

A Lauderdale County Human Resources Department worker reported a sexual abuse incident to Decatur police on Aug. 2 involving a girl subjected to sexual conduct by a man later identified as 26-year-old Lucas Rymer, police said.

The abuse allegedly occurred at Rymer’s home in Decatur “on multiple occasions,” according to police.

On Thursday, Rymer met with the detective investigating the case. Probable cause was established for Rymer’s arrest, and he was charged with first-degree sexual abuse.

He was booked into the Morgan County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond, police said.

Further information was unavailable.
