Exactly 20 years since the previous time that quarterback Tom Brady played in a third consecutive loss, the Baltimore Ravens gave him an anniversary gift – a third consecutive loss – in the NFL’s Thursday night game for Week 8 of the 2022 season.

Brady completed 26-of-44 passes for 325 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions, lost a TD pass to a penalty and became the most sacked QB in NFL history in the Ravens’ 27-22 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The loss was the third in a row for the Bucs, giving Brady his first such streak as a starting NFL quarterback in 302 games. The next-longest streak is 155 by Joe Montana. On Oct. 27, 2002, the Denver Broncos defeated the New England Patriots 24-16 to send Brady to his fourth straight loss.

Six players from Alabama high schools and colleges got on the field during the Baltimore-Tampa Bay game:

· Ravens cornerback Jalyn Armour-Davis (St. Paul’s Episcopal, Alabama) was designated as a game-day inactive.

· Buccaneers inside linebacker K.J. Britt (Oxford, Auburn) is on injured reserve and not eligible to play. Britt went on IR on Wednesday after sustaining an ankle injury on Sunday.

· Ravens middle linebacker Josh Bynes (Auburn) was designated as a game-day inactive. Bynes missed the game because of a quadriceps injury.

· Buccaneers cornerback Carlton Davis (Auburn) was designated as a game-day inactive. A hip injury kept Davis sidelined for a second straight game.

· Jamel Dean (Auburn) started at cornerback for the Buccaneers. Dean made four tackles and broke up a pass – a fourth-down throw into the end zone.

· Kenyan Drake (Alabama) started at running back for the Ravens. Drake ran for 62 yards on seven carries and caught four passes for 5 yards and one touchdown. Drake caught a 5-yard TD pass from quarterback Lamar Jackson as Baltimore tied the score at 10-10 with 9:05 left in the third quarter. The touchdown reception was the first for Drake since Oct. 17, 2021, when he scored against Denver for the Las Vegas Raiders. Drake also had a 40-yard run to the Tampa Bay 21-yard line to set up the Ravens’ final points on a field goal.

· Marlon Humphrey (Hoover, Alabama) started at cornerback for the Ravens. Humphrey broke up a pass but sustained a hamstring injury in the game.

· Julio Jones (Foley, Alabama) started at wide receiver for the Buccaneers. Jones had two receptions for 21 yards and one touchdown and one rushing attempt that went for no gain. Jones had missed the previous three games because of a knee injury. Jones scored his first touchdown of the season on an 8-yard reception on a fourth-down snap with 49 seconds left in the game.

· Ravens outside linebacker Jeremiah Moon (Hoover) is on the practice squad and not eligible to play.

· Rakeem Nunez-Roches (Central-Phenix City) started at defensive tackle for the Buccaneers. Nunez-Roches made three tackles, including one behind the line of scrimmage.

· Ravens defensive tackle Michael Pierce (Daphne, Samford) is on injured reserve and not eligible to play.

· Buccaneers safety Nolan Turner (Vestavia Hills) played but did not record any stats. Tampa Bay signed Turner to its active roster on Thursday.

Baltimore improved to 5-3 while Tampa Bay dropped to 3-5.

The Buccaneers return to the field with a home game against the Los Angeles Rams on Nov. 6. The Ravens’ next game will be in New Orleans against the Saints on Nov. 7 in the Week 9 Monday night contest.
