Alabama man tried to run family member over with lawn mower, police say
A Hartselle man is facing charges of elder abuse, neglect and third degree domestic violence after authorities say he became violent with a female member of his family.
The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office said the incident happened Monday. A resident in the 400 block of Tapscott Road used a home alarm system to contact Morgan County 911.
Deputies arriving found an injured woman with visible marks on her, grass stains on her clothes and leaves in her hair.
Investigators say they believe a family member became physically violent with the woman by hitting her with a shovel, trying to run over her feet with a push mower and dragging her across the yard behind a riding lawn mower.
Phillip Glenn Brennan, 29, of Hartselle, was arrested and booked into the Morgan County Jail on $20,300 bond.
