Michael Oher wants to see Nick Saban as commissioner of college football
Michael Oher has no idea where college football is going, but he knows who should lead the sport there.
“I think we need some order here pretty soon,” Oher told Damon Amendolara on Wednesday. “I think Nick Saban might be just the guy for the job.”
When the former Ole Miss and Baltimore offensive lineman was asked if Saban should be the commissioner of college football, he replied, “For sure.”
“He’s always trying to steer guys in the right direction,” Oher said.
College football could use the help. As athletic departments jockey for position in the continued conference re-alignment, NIL and the transfer portal continue to make headlines as leaders in the sport look for some type of regulation.
Oher, whose life was depicted in 2009′s “The Blind Side,” is promoting a new book. “When Your Back’s Against the Wall” is Oher’s second book. In it he highlights his desire to nurture children with backgrounds similar to his own.
