More heat advisories for Alabama on Tuesday

Another day of oppressive heat is underway for much of Alabama on Tuesday.

However, the northern part of the state could catch a break of sorts today. The National Weather Service is forecasting high temperatures to “only” reach the 80s across parts of north and north-central Alabama, a break from a solid streak of 90s over the past few weeks.

The same can’t be said for south Alabama, however, which will be under heat advisories and excessive heat warnings again on Tuesday.

The weather service is forecasting highs today to climb into the mid- to upper 90s today in south Alabama. Those temperatures, combined with tropical humidity levels, will send the heat index, or “feels like” temperatures, well over 100 degrees this afternoon.
