Louisiana prep TE Will Loerzel commits to South Alabama
South Alabama picked up its third commitment of the day Monday from Will Loerzel, a tight end from Isidore Newman High School in New Orleans.
Loerzel (6-foot-4, 245 pounds) also has scholarship offers from Louisiana Tech, Army, Louisiana-Monroe and Southern Miss, among other schools. He joins Vigor’s Jerrian Graham and Athens’ JayShon Ridgle — both wide receivers — who committed to the Jaguars on Monday.
Loerzel announced his commitment via Twitter:
Loerzel hails from the same high school program that produced Texas quarterback Arch Manning (as well as his famous uncles, Peyton and Eli). His father, Jason, played linebacker at Purdue in the late 1990s.
South Alabama has 14 commitments for its 2024 class. The early signing period for high school seniors begins in late December.
