48-year-old motorcyclist killed in weekend east Alabama crash

A motorcyclist was killed in a two-vehicle crash Sunday evening in east Alabama.

Alabama State Troopers identified the fatality victim as Marcus T. Raney Jr. He was 48 and lived in Piedmont.

The wreck happened at 6:52 p.m. on U.S. 279, less than a mile west of Piedmont in Calhoun County, said Trooper Cp. Reginal King.

Raney was driving a 2011 Harley Davidson that struck a Nissan Frontier driven by 28-year-old Hannah Bagwell, also of Piedmont.

Raney was pronounced dead on the scene.
