A 79-year-old Mobile man was killed in a two-vehicle accident Sunday night, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

The accident happened about 7:19 p.m. Sunday on Snow Road South near Maxwell Run Road, about a mile west of Mobile in Mobile County.

ALEA says a 2004 Honda Accord driven by George D. Jones collided head-on with a 2011 Chrysler Town & Country van driven by 41-year-old Charlotte Nash of Wilmer.

Jones was not wearing a seat belt at the time and was pronounced dead at the scene. Nash was also injured in the crash and transported to University Hospital in Mobile for treatment. The extent of her injuries was not immediately known.

The crash shut down all lanes of Snow Road South for an extended period Sunday night. No other details were released as ALEA continues to investigate the accident.
