Mountain Brook 10-year-old girl killed in weekend crash identified
Authorities have released the name of a child killed in a weekend crash in Mountain Brook.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office on Monday identified the victim as Annabelle Mullican. She was 10 and lived in Mountain Brook.
Mountain Brook police responded at 5:27 p.m. Saturday to a report of the wreck in the 3400 block of Cherokee Road, just east of Overbrook Road.
Police Chief Jaye Loggins said moments before, the vehicle had been observed on Old Leeds Road traveling at high rate of speed and then turning onto Cherokee Road.
When police located the crash, they found a woman and two young girls injured. All three were transported to area hospitals.
Annabelle was pronounced dead at Children’s of Alabama at 6:20 p.m. Saturday.
Loggins said the investigation is ongoing.
