10-year-old girl killed, 2 others injured in crash on Mountain Brookâs Cherokee Road
A young girl was killed in a Mountain Brook crash that also injured two others Saturday.
Mountain Brook police responded at 5:27 p.m. to a report of the wreck in the 3400 block of Cherokee Road, just east of Overbrook Road.
Police Chief Jaye Loggins said moments before, the vehicle had been observed on Old Leeds Road traveling at high rate of speed and then turning onto Cherokee Road.
When police located the crash, they found a woman and two young females injured.
All three were transported to the hospital. One of the young girls – age 10 – was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Loggins said the investigation is ongoing.
