Huntsville basketball standout commits to Samford
Huntsville High’s Caleb Harrison committed to Bucky McMillan and Samford on Friday morning.
The 6-foot-9 senior forward chose the Bulldogs over Belmont, Davidson, Lipscomb, Loyola-Chicago, Troy, Jacksonville State and several Ivy League schools.
“I am humbled and excited to commit to Samford and Bucky McMillan,” Harrison said. “I had some great opportunities to get out of state, but I wanted to stay home and be apart of the special things coach McMillan has going on at Samford. I want to see great basketball in Alabama.”
Harrison, an All-State selection as a junior, averaged 15 points and 8 rebounds a game for the Crimson Panthers, who went 24-9 overall and reached the Class 7A quarterfinals.
