Friends and family are mourning the death of a 32-year-old woman who died Monday, two days after a traffic crash in east Birmingham.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office on Thursday identified the fatality victim as Katrice Shantel Toney.

The single-vehicle wreck happened at 12:12 p.m. Saturday at 87th Street North at Parkway East. Toney was taken to UAB Hospital where she was pronounced dead at 1:50 p.m. Monday.

The wreck happened while Toney was setting up for a Woodlawn High School Class of 2009 reunion. She was on her way to pick up tablecloths for that picnic and never returned.

Toney leaves behind two children, ages 7 and 5.

Her funeral is set for noon Saturday at St. Luke A.M.E. Zion Church on 12th Avenue North.
