Authorities are asking for the public’s help in finding a man who was reported missing from Bessemer earlier today.

Homer “Jerry” Abernathy, 75, was last seen about 8 a.m. Tuesday. He was walking in the 2200 block of Dartmouth Avenue, said Lt. Christian Clemons.

Abernathy has a condition that may affect his mental ability, Clemons said.

Abernathy was wearing a royal blue plaid long sleeve shirt, blue jeans, and a tan hat.
