Huntsville police are investigating how a child received serious burns this afternoon due to hot water.

Sgt. Rosalind White said officers are currently working on an investigation in the 3600 block of Ayers Drive.

Officers also assisted with an escort as the child was transported to the hospital, White said.

The child is listed as having “serious but non-life-threatening injuries.”
