Authorities have released the name of a man killed in a weekend fiery crash in Jefferson County.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office on Monday identified the fatality victim as Joey Lee Copeland. He was 34 and lived in Mulga.

Sheriff’s deputies responded just before 10 a.m. Saturday to a report of a single-vehicle wreck on Shady Grove Road at the Bluff Ridge Bridge.

The Shady Grove Fire Department extinguished the blaze. Copeland was pronounced dead on the scene at 10:19 a.m.

The cause and circumstances surrounding the wreck are being investigated by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
