Residents moving into the Huntsville metro area might be a little surprised when looking for an affordable home.

Conventional wisdom would be to look outside of the city limits of Huntsville, Madison or Athens, which are among the fastest growing cities in Alabama.

Think again, according to Stacker.com, which compiled rankings of where the most expensive homes in the Huntsville metro area, which includes Madison and Limestone counties.

According to Stacker, some of the areas with the most expensive homes are actually outside of the metro’s three largest cities. Stacker compiled a list of cities with the most expensive homes in the Huntsville metro area using data from Zillow from March. And according to ValleyMLS, which compiles data from home sales in north Alabama, homes prices have stabilized over the last few months.

So where are the most expensive homes, according to Stacker?
