Date set for Alabama-Creighton men’s basketball game

The 2023-24 Alabama men’s basketball schedule continues to take shape. On Monday, the Creighton basketball social media account announced its nonconference opponents along with the dates those games will be played.

The Bluejays will welcome the Crimson Tide to the CHI Health Center on Dec. 16. It will be the first game of a home-and-home series that’ll come to Tuscaloosa next year.

The announcement reveals what should be highly-competitive 11 days for Nate Oats’ revamped roster. Alabama will play Purdue in Toronto on Dec. 9 before making the trip to Omaha, Neb. Then, on Dec. 16, Alabama will play at Arizona.

Creighton went 24-13 last year, earning a No. 6 seed in March Madness and nearly met Alabama in the Louisville Sweet 16. Instead, the Bluejays lost to San Diego State which had upset the Tide two days prior.

Alabama recently announced the hire of former Creighton assistant Preston Murphy, who was with the Bluejays before receiving a two-year show-cause penalty by the NCAA.

Last month, the Southeastern Conference announced each team’s home and away opponents.
