2 charged in Montgomery shooting that killed 15-year-old, injured 6 others
Two suspects are in custody in a Montgomery shooting that killed a young teen and injured six others.
Montgomery police on Monday night said Luis Barrera and Baltazar Barrera, both 20, are charged with capital murder in the shooting of a 15-year-old.
No other details about the slaying or the other six victims were released, including when and where it happened. Major Saba Coleman said in a news release only that it happened on Sunday.
Jail records state that the fatal shooting is a capital crime because the shots were fired from a vehicle.
Both suspects were taken into custody by members of the Special Operations Division and homicide detectives. They are being held without bond in the Montgomery County Detention Facility.
Additional charges are pending, Coleman said.
Baltazar Barrera was already out of jail on bond in connection with an April shooting that left another man with gunshot wounds to the hand and thigh, court records show.
