Four-star offensive lineman picks Florida over Auburn

As of Monday afternoon, Hugh Freeze and the Auburn football program hasn’t earned the commitment of an offensive lineman for the 2024 recruiting cycle.

Coming into the week, the Tigers had their eyes on the commitment of four-star offensive lineman Fletcher Westphal, who had narrowed down his list to Arkansas, Auburn, Clemson, Florida and Georgia.

The 6-foot-8, 335-pound Leesburg, Va. product took a number of visits to Auburn, but never returned for an official visit, despite putting the Tigers in his top 5.

Unfortunately for Freeze and the Tigers, it was Billy Napier and the Gators who earned the pledge from Westphal Monday morning.

Still searching for its first offensive line commit, Auburn will likely have to make a strong push for Preston Taumua, who is trending to Nebraska, and DeAndre Carter, who has also garnered interest from Southern California, Texas and Michigan State.
