Billboard tells Alabama âItâs Miller Timeâ … in Georgia
Macon, Ga. is about 188 miles from the Alabama state line, but that meant nothing to whoever installed a billboard in the city, squarely in the center of the Peach State.
The advertisement, on Macon’s Gray Highway, read “Tastes Like Miller Time, Alabama,” with a can of Miller Lite snug within the outline of Georgia’s nearest neighbor to the west.
The sight might have made a few Georgia drivers believe they’d gotten horribly lost, or perhaps they’d had a few too many of the product being advertised.
The billboard, which obviously made a wrong turn in Andalusia, was taken down earlier today.
“Someone needs to get a slap on the hand for that one,” said one observer. “That’s just ridiculous.”
According to WMAZ, Briana Taylor, an employee at a neighboring business, Fountain Express Car Wash, said she watched the sign go up.
“I was looking at it because I’m amazed at stuff like that,” Taylor said, who tried to explain what happened. “Maybe just to boost their sales. People look at it and say, ‘ooh that’s funny.’ You know, they might go get some they see the sign, and they thought it was funny.”
