Mobile-area stocks count their losses

Not to be a downer but the negative numbers ran rampant Thursday on our Mobile and Alabama Stock Report — from all sectors and from all parts of the state.

Close to home, Enviva dropped 2.2%, falling after enjoying back-to-back positive days.

ArcelorMittal, the Luxembourg-based steel manufacturing corporation that has a steel processing plant — a 50/50 joint venture with Nippon Steel Corp. — in Calvert, fell 2%.

Mobile-based Computer Programs and Systems lost .3%.

WestRock led our list with a .2% gain. The corrugated packaging company based in Atlanta is the second largest American packaging company. It has eight sites across the state, including Huntsville, Athens, Stevenson and Cullman in north Alabama to Eutaw, Lanett, Demopolis and Montgomery in central Alabama.
