Southern Company tops list full of losses
The majority of the stocks on our list took hits Wednesday as the markets came back from the holiday break.
U.S. Steel was the biggest decliner, dropping 4.9%.
Community Health Systems sunk 3.6%.
Nucor and WestRock lost 3.1%.
On the positive end, the Southern Company led our list, rising a modest 1.6%. The American gas and electric utility holding company based in the southern United States is headquartered in Atlanta and has executive offices also located in Birmingham.
