Alabama man dies after being ejected from car that hit tree, guardrail
A Central Alabama man died Wednesday afternoon when the car he was driving struck a tree and then a guardrail before overturning on U.S. 80 in Lowndes County, authorities said.
Jimmy B. Harris, 56, of White Hall, was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the single-vehicle wreck Wednesday, said Sgt. Jeremy Burkett of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
Harris was driving a 2004 Cadillac Deville on U.S. 80 about three miles east of White Hall in Lowndes County when the vehicle struck a tree and a guardrail before overturning around 1:22 p.m. Wednesday, said Burkett.
He was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
Further information was unavailable as state troopers continued to investigate the wreck.
