13-year-old girl shot while riding in vehicle on Center Point Parkway
A young teen girl was shot while riding in a vehicle Tuesday night in eastern Jefferson County.
Jefferson County sheriff’s officials said they were called to investigate the shooting that happened between 10:15 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. in the 1200 block of Center Point Parkway.
Reports indicate a dark or black colored vehicle opened fire upon another vehicle heading in the same direction of travel.
At least one of the bullets struck the 13-year-old girl. Police radio communications indicated she was struck in the leg.
The girl was taken by private vehicle to Children’s of Alabama,. Deputy George French said she was last known to be in stable condition.
The suspect vehicle was believed to be occupied by at least two people. No arrests have been made.
