65-year-old man killed in shooting at Fairfield home
A 65-year-old has been identified as the man found shot to death in a Fairfield home earlier this week.
Luman Jones II was shot at 8:56 p.m. Monday in the 100 block of 60th Street, according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.
Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies responded to a call for help at a house in the 100 block of 60th Street, said Deputy Chief David Agee.
Fairfield Fire medics pronounced Jones dead on the scene at 8:57 p.m.
Agee said there was no forced entry into the home. Detectives are reviewing neighborhood video and other available evidence.
No arrests have yet been announced.
Jones is Fairfield’s fifth homicide this year, all of which have happened since late May.
In all of Jefferson County, there have been 99 homicides, including the five in Fairfield.
