A man was found shot to death inside a Fairfield home Monday night.

Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies responded just before 9 p.m. to a call for help at a house in the 100 block of 60th Street, said Deputy Chief David Agee.

They arrived to find the man had sustained a gunshot wound. Fairfield Fire medics pronounced him dead on the scene.

Agee said there was no forced entry into the home. Detectives are reviewing neighborhood video and other available evidence.

The man’s identity has not been released. He is Fairfield’s fifth homicide this year, all of which have happened since late May.

In all of Jefferson County, there have been 99 homicides, including the five in Fairfield.
