COLLEGE FOOTBALL, USA — On this College Football Survivor Show, Doug Lesmerises and Shehan Jeyarajah each pick three dark horses in the college football playoff race. What does that mean?

In the nine-year history of the playoff, 61 percent of playoff teams were ranked in the top five of the preseason AP poll. Expand it to the top 10, and you pull in 81 percent of playoff teams, and with the top 15, you get to 92 percent of teams.

So which teams not expected to be in the preseason top 10 could make the playoff in 2023? Doug and Shehan find teams from the Pac-12, Big Ten, SEC and ACC and make the case.
