Banking stocks were the big winners on Monday’s short trading day.

Regions and Synovus topped our Huntsville and Alabama Stock Report, rising 2.6% and 2.5%, respectively.

Community Health Systems was just behind that duo, jumping 2.3%.

Other Huntsville-area stocks of interest that saw increases: Southern States Bancshares (1%), Adtran (.6%) and Carpenter Technology (.3%).
