A single-vehicle crash in Trussville left one man dead.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the fatality victim as Ronald Phillip Truss. He was 61 and lived in Trussville.

The wreck happened at 8:54 p.m. Wednesday in the 2600 block of Smith Sims Road. Authorities said Truss was driving a pickup truck, but not other details about the circumstances surrounding the crash have yet been released.

Truss was pronounced dead on the scene at 9:10 p.m.

Trussville police are investigating.
