Losses abound, but Huntsville stocks fare well

The majority of stocks on our list saw drops Wednesday but many companies with Huntsville interests enjoyed gains.

Carpenter Technology was near the top with a 2.7% gain.

Adtran was right there, too, up 1.7%.

Sanmina gained 1%.

The big winners, though, were Louisiana-Pacific and The Weyerhaeuser Company, both up 4.3%.

Weyerhaeuser, a timberland company, has manufactured wood products for more than a century and operates as a real estate investment trust. According to its website, it has three locations in Alabama: a lumber mill in Millport, a timberlands office in Thomasville and a plant in Evergreen.
