Madonna cancels ‘Celebration’ tour after being found unconscious, says manager Guy Oseary

Madonna’s management canceled her 2023 “Celebration” tour on Wednesday afternoon.

Madonna’s manager, Guy Oseary, said a “serious bacterial infection” required the 64-year-old singer to be treated in intensive care for several days, according to a prepared statement on his Instagram account.

“Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care,” he wrote. “A full recovery is expected. At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour. We will share more details with you as soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows.”

The singer was found unresponsive on Saturday and rushed to a New York City hospital, where she was intubated for at least one night before having the tube removed, according to entertainment site Page Six.

The shows were to feature “decades of greatest hits” from the highly influential, multiplatinum pop star. The world tour had been scheduled to begin July 15 in Vancouver before visiting Denver for only its fourth show. The 50-date tour was nearly sold out, Rolling Stone reported.
