Auburn basketball to host Va. Tech in SEC/ACC Challenge
Auburn’s men’s basketball team will host Virginia Tech in the inaugural SEC/ACC Challenge in late November, it was announced Wednesday.
The Tigers face the Hokies on Wednesday, Nov. 29 at Neville Arena in Auburn. The game tips off at 8:15 p.m. and will be broadcast on one of the ESPN networks — ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SEC Network or ACC Network.

Auburn’s women’s team will also participate in the SEC/ACC Challenge. The Tigers host Clemson at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 30.
Auburn opens the 2023-24 season vs. Baylor Nov. 7 in Sioux Falls, N.D. The Tigers also reportedly have non-conference games scheduled against Indiana (December in Atlanta) and Penn (Jan. 2 in Auburn), and will reportedly headline the four-team Legends Classic in Brooklyn, N.Y., Nov. 16-17 against Oklahoma State, Notre Dame and St. Bonaventure.
Auburn’s list of SEC opponents was announced Monday. Bruce Pearl’s Tigers went 21-13 in 2022-23, losing to Houston in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
Virginia Tech finished 19-15 in 2022-23, losing to Cincinnati in the first round of the NIT. Auburn leads the all-time series with the Hokies 5-2, with the most-recent meeting coming in 1999.
