Watch a shark drag a fisherman overboard in the Florida Everglades

An innocent day on the water quickly became a frightening one for one Florida fisherman. According to the Miami Herald, an unidentified man was pulled overboard from his boat in the Florida Bay at Everglades National Park on Friday morning .

A bull shark latched onto his hand and dragged him into the murky water.

What appeared to be blood could be seen on the side of the boat as the behemoth shark dragged the man into the water and left him scrambling to get back on board. Friends rushed to retrieve him and he was eventually airlifted to a local hospital by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

The group had been fishing in the bay during morning hours. One of the other men on board advises the victim, who is trying to wash his hands, not to put his hands in the water. He retorts that it will only be for “two seconds.”

The shark almost instantly appears from beneath the opaque water. A park ranger treated the man’s wounds before he was airlifted.

According to reports, unprovoked bull shark attacks are common in the Everglades
