A two-car collision early Sunday morning in Jackson County killed a 64-year-old South Carolina man and sent four passengers to the hospital, according to a press release from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

The crash happened at around 4:15 a.m. Sunday on U.S. 72 about two miles east of Gurley. Bobby J. Stewart, 64, of Blythewood, S.C. was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Four passengers of the other vehicle involved in the crash were transported to the hospital for treatment.
