24-year-old pedestrian critical after being hit by 2 vehicles in Tuscaloosa
A 24-year-old man was critically injured when he was struck by two vehicles Thursday night in Tuscaloosa.
A driver called 911 at 10:37 p.m. to report she had accidentally hit the man as she was driving north on Hackberry Lane near Black Bear’s Way. A second driver then called to report that he also struck the victim.
The injured Tuscaloosa resident was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center and later transferred to UAB Hospital in Birmingham, said police spokeswoman Stephanie Taylor.
The victim remained in critical condition Friday.
The Tuscaloosa Police Department’s Traffic Homicide Unit responded due to the severity of the victim’s injuries. The road was closed while they conducted their on-site investigation until shortly after 2 a.m. Friday.
