Teen love triangle leaves 2 shot, 16-year-old in critical condition: Mobile police

An altercation between a 16-year-old girl, her new 17-year-old boyfriend, and her 16-year-old ex-boyfriend led to a shooting which left two teens with gunshot wounds, one of them in critical condition.

Mobile police said officers were called to the 300 block of Seabreeze Court Monday afternoon just before 4:30.

Officers learned an argument had taken place between three teens before the ex-boyfriend pulled out a handgun.

The male teens began to struggle over the gun, with the new boyfriend getting control of the gun and shooting the ex-boyfriend and a 19-year-old male who was accompanying the ex-boyfriend, according to police.

The 16-year-old ex-boyfriend was listed in critical, but stable condition as of Monday, while the 19-year-old’s injuries were not considered life-threatening.

The 17-year-old shooter was taken into custody and transported to Mobile Metro Jail, charged with two counts of assault.
