Birmingham police are investigating a shooting that left two people injured.

A man and a woman were found wounded just after 7:30 a.m. Wednesday in a vehicle just off the roadway. Both were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Officer Truman Fitzgerald said investigators believe the pair was shot while traveling on Parkway East.

No other details were immediately available, and no suspects are in custody.
