Sheriff: Pensacola woman poured lighter fluid on another woman, set her on fire

A Pensacola woman is in the Escambia County (Fla.) Jail, accused of seriously injuring another woman by setting her on fire.

According to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report of an armed disturbance at a residence on Holsberry Road in Pensacola on June 6.

When they arrived, they found a female victim with “significant” burns on her arms, neck and back. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Investigation indicated the suspect, identified as Darneque Jones, had been in an argument with the victim and at some point poured lighter fluid on the other woman and set her on fire.

Jones is charged with aggravated battery and criminal mischief. She remained jailed as of Tuesday morning, held on $252,500 bond.
